Nintendo and Lego Collaborate on New Super Mario Sets

If you have been considering adding some new Lego sets to your collection, Nintendo has exciting news for you. In addition to the recently unveiled Batman: The Animated Series set, the company is working on a new line of sets for the Super Mario series. As part of the Mar10 Day celebration, Nintendo announced a partnership with Lego to release three new sets.

Bowser Express Train Set

One of the new sets, the Bowser Express Train set, is inspired by the character’s locomotive in the games. This set includes two carriages and a car in the back, along with train stations representing Bowser’s Castle and the Mushroom Kingdom. In a nod to the games, Lego Mario can board the train by being launched out of a cannon and onto a handcart.

King Boo’s Haunted Mansion and the Battle with Roy

The King Boo’s Haunted Mansion set features Lego Luigi battling enemies in the haunted estate and unlocking a treasure chest. Additionally, the Battle with Roy set sees Lego Peach defending her castle from the Koopaling and his Chain Chomp Chariot, with Lego Mario and Lego Toad by her side.

At the end of the announcement video, Lego teased the development of Mario Kart sets set to release in 2025. While details are scarce, fans can anticipate the beloved spinoff franchise making its debut in Lego form in the near future.

Furthermore, 2025 is expected to bring the launch of the next Nintendo console. Given the history of Mario Kart games releasing early in a system’s lifecycle, it is likely that a new mainline entry will follow shortly after the console’s debut. As for the release date and pricing of the three new non-Mario Kart Lego sets, details are yet to be disclosed.
